Luxury beach escape
Head to Camp de Mar if you’re looking for a peaceful holiday in a chic setting, where former residents include the likes of Tom Cruise and Claudia Schiffer. The bright white sandy beaches fringed with trendy beach bars are a big draw. There are plenty of water sports for active visitors, as well as cliffs and pine forests surrounding the town for keen hikers. Head across the wooden bridge for lunch on a little island – La Illeta - which houses a restaurant and bar serving up delicious fresh seafood and locally sourced ingredients.
Head further afield on your holidays in Camp de Mar, Majorca. The island’s capital, Palma, is just a half hour drive from the town and is home to historic attractions, excellent shopping and a pretty marina. Alternatively, head to the little fishing village of Port d’Andratx for quaint shops and restaurants, as well as an opportunity to window shop for yachts. You can also walk the beautiful coastal path to Cap Andratx, as well as Cap des Llamp, taking in the deep blues and fragrant pines as you go.
Closer to home, there’s the 18 hole Golf de Andratx course, which is just a few minutes’ walk from the centre of town. If you want to immerse yourself in the area’s culture and pick up some local produce and handicrafts, head to the traditional market. It runs every Wednesday from 8am till 2pm, with an evening market - Mercadet Nocturno – open from 7pm to midnight.
