Du Lac et Du Parc Grand Resort

We have stayed multiple times in this hotel and again the service was excellent. Very nice room, good food and drinks, beautiful garden and friendly staff.

Hotel was nice, rooms were nice, we had a room in a separate wing of the resort, not the main hotel. The room was lovely, spacious and clean, the cleaners did an amazing job, spotless. Breakfast was taken each day in the roof of the separate part, staff in here were attentive and so helpful. You might be wondering why 3 stars ?? Well here is where it went downhill. Arriving at the room we found two single beds, we rang reception and explained we were a couple, and wanted a double. We got a call back after about 2 hours to explain that housekeeping were en route… another hour and a gentleman arrived with a topper to push together the beds, now for €400 a night, this isn’t what I expected, again we contacted reception but the lady had no interest in sorting. We spent the next three night falling into the gap between the single beds. With a meeting the following morning, I went to the wardrobe to get iron for shirt, no iron, no ironing board?? Again rang reception to ask for iron and ironing board, only to be told due to fire regulations, they are not allowed, what puzzled me was the room had a kettle and a full kitchen hob in it, I don’t think for one minute it was fire regulations, I have stayed in 50 story hotels in China, 25 stories in UK, in fact the night before we had stayed at the Sheraton in Milan… it had an iron. Quickly realised it was a money saving exercise, 400 x irons and 400 ironing boards would cost ! What they did offer was an ironing room, in the basement of the building. Believe me for €1200 for 3 nights, I wasn’t expecting to have to traipse across the grounds with washing ! I went back to reception, they were simply not interested and were very rude. To summarise, hotel was lovely, location lovely… but the rules and the staff were enough to make us want to check out.
